GEO without pretending to see the web

Generative search visibility needs careful labels. We distinguish directional model sampling from live-engine evidence.

What is measured and delivered

A model-knowledge review can sample how a brand or topic is represented in a model's responses. It can identify missing context, unclear entities, ambiguous wording, or questions worth researching. The output is a set of recorded prompts, observed responses, and clearly labelled observations that can inform content or information architecture work.

We can also review public pages for descriptive structure, consistent terminology, useful explanations, and source-linked claims. These are practical content signals, not a score that predicts an answer. The point is to make the available evidence easier to inspect and improve the underlying information for people as well as systems.

Evidence-led process

We define the topic, entity, audience, and question set before sampling. We record the model and prompt context used for the review, then separate what the response said from what the source material supports. Repeated checks should use the same bounded questions so a change in wording or source coverage can be discussed honestly.

Recommendations are tied to an observed gap, such as an unclear description or an unsupported statement. Draft content is checked against available sources before it is treated as a candidate output. Human review remains necessary for factual accuracy, suitability, and publication.

Boundaries and access needs

This is directional model sampling, not a live query of ChatGPT, Google, Perplexity, Gemini, or any other engine. It is not first-party search data, a citation guarantee, or proof of how a particular person will receive an answer. Real engine adapters, Search Console data, analytics access, and other providers require separate availability, permission, and verification. They are not bundled into this public pilot.

FAQs

Is this live AI-engine monitoring?

No. The current approach is a labelled proxy based on model responses and public evidence, not live-web coverage.

Can GEO guarantee citations or rankings?

No. Clear information and supported claims may be useful, but no placement, citation, traffic, or answer outcome is promised.

What access is needed?

A public brief is enough for an initial review. First-party measurement or private content requires the relevant property or source access.
